About Me

Hi, my name is Christine Pillsbury and I have worked in the public relations profession for over 20 years as a writer, strategist, program implementer, manager, trainer and executive. (If you would like to know more about me and my qualifications, you can read my professional bio).

During part of my career as the owner of a community public relations firm, I worked for professionals in several disciplines to help them gain local visibility and grow their practices. Later, as an executive in a national PR firm, I also had to decline PR services to professionals who were too small to afford our agency’s minimum fees.

This led me to create a program for busy professionals in private practice to show them how they could implement these valuable strategies themselves. That program (which is still available) has evolved into this website. My goal with both has been to share my knowledge to help you succeed in growing your practice.

I have experienced the frustration of needing a professional and not knowing where to go. Formal referral sources generally cannot offer anything more than contact information and training statistics. Personal referrals are great, but what if you don't know anyone who has had experience with an attorney, a chiropractor, a psychologist, an architect or a cosmetic surgeon, for example?

Too many of you don't like marketing yourself or your practice because it feels to you too much like, well, marketing. Many of you just don't know what to do. I hope this website will help clarify some of that for you, give you some practical tools and lead you to additional resources.

I believe that one of the best ways to create the visibility and trust that will grow your practice, your revenue and your reputation is the use of public relations strategies that establish you as an expert in your community. I also believe that you already have most of what you need to implement a successful PR program. With a little guidance, you can plan and execute one on your own that will give you one of the most successful and respected practices in your community. This website is the place for you to begin.
